Born in Spain, Cristina Garcia grew up surrounded by her Spanish culture, traditions and family values. She studied law in Spain and went on to work as a lawyer, beginning her professional career and building her life there.

In 2001, Cristina made the significant decision to leave Spain and move to Australia to start a new chapter in her life. Arriving in a new country meant adapting to a different culture, language and way of life, while also finding her place within a new community.

Her experience as a migrant has given Cristina a deep understanding of the challenges, opportunities and personal transformation that can come with starting again in a new country. 

Over the years, Cristina has built a life in Australia while maintaining a strong connection to her Spanish heritage. Her multicultural experience has shaped the way she sees community, identity and belonging, and has given her an appreciation for the different stories, traditions and experiences that women bring with them when they make Australia their home.
